Cats on Treadmills – The Purrfect Power Generator⚡🐱

You’re a tireless robot with one mission: herd chaos-loving cats onto treadmills to generate energy and keep the grid alive! But these furballs have needs—food, sleep, and play—so you’ll have to feed, entertain, and recharge them before they’ll run. Manage quirky cat personalities of Whiskers, Mr. Business, Milk, Airbus A380 and Forklift as you strategically juggle resources and keep the power flowing.

This is the first Unity project designed and programmed by Nivin Nabeel & Kevin Liu, created in just a week as a fun challenge to try something new. With a shared curiosity for learning and pushing creative boundaries—and no professional game development training—we jumped in headfirst, learning, experimenting, and problem-solving along the way. This project was all about embracing the chaos of something completely different.

Game Mechanics & Design:
Underneath the playful chaos of Cats on Treadmills is a structured system of mechanics that drive gameplay and progression. Each level has a power goal, requiring careful management of cats on treadmills to generate energy. The robot, controlled by the player, can interact with cats, move them, and manage their needs, ensuring they stay active.

Cats have three key resources—sleep, food, and play—that must be maintained to keep them running. Their behaviors vary, with some being fast but needy, others lazy but consistent, and a few just plain unpredictable. Players must strategically place items, monitor cat energy levels, and optimize treadmill usage to complete levels efficiently.

With layered mechanics, a growing challenge curve, and plenty of feline antics, Cats on Treadmills blends resource management with lighthearted fun.
